Held outside the Library under the spacious portico, the 3rd Annual Edible Book Contest looks to be just as much fun as the first two. Come with an entry, or just to see how creative your fellow readers are when it comes to making an edible representation of a book. And then there’s the Feast after the awards are given out….YUM! Books never tasted so good.
If you want to enter, check out our Edible Book Contest page.
3rd Annual Edible Book Contest is Friday.
Blueberries for Sal
In honor of huckleberry season, today’s (Thursday, July 30th) Storytime Stroll is “Blueberries for Sal,” a charming story about Little Sal and Little Bear, who get mixed up with their mothers on Blueberry Hill while picking blueberries.
The story panels will be up until 2 p.m.
Over 400 New Juvenile Nonfiction and Audio Books Added
Whitefish Community Library has added over 400 brand new juvenile nonfiction books and juvenile audio books to our collection. These books were purchased thanks to a grant the Whitefish Library Association received from the Whitefish Community Foundation’s 2019 Great Fish Challenge. We were able to update material on coding, planets, mythology, sports figures, plants, transportation, the environment, human rights, insects, history, math, ancient civilizations, and many other subjects.
Storytime Stroll set to start outside the Library
We’re starting something new! Our outside Storytime Stroll will allow us to maintain a safe distance while enjoying each other’s company, hearing a story, and doing something fun afterwards on the Library’s East Lawn. Thursday, July 23, at 11 a.m.is our inaugural Storytime Stroll.

For Our Youngest Patrons
Before you can read, many people read to you. And boy, do we like doing that for our toddlers at Whitefish Community Library. We love the reactions, we love the crawling away and the crawling back, we love the growing attention as time goes by and toddlers learn to focus, and we love singing those silly songs. Catch us doing that, from our kitchen, or wherever we can, on our new YouTube channel, WCL Kids. We’re just starting, but give us some time and plenty of feedback, and we think we’ll have something that our youngest patrons can really enjoy.
