Highlights in October are our two Friday Night Poetry Gatherings and the continuation of Whitefish Community Craft Night hosted by The Making Place.

Montana’s 14th Poet Laureate, Mark Gibbons, visits again on Friday, October 9 at 6 pm. Come and enjoy a relaxed and convivial program as Mark reads from his new book, Word Salad. Picture of Mark Gibbons Our second gathering on Friday, October 23 at 6 pm features the new documentary about Mary Oliver, “Saved by the Beauty of the World.” The 90-minute film explores the life, work, and legacy of the Pulitzer Prize-winning American poet. Lively discussion and optional writing will follow led by librarian Nikki Reed.

October also brings two sessions of Community Craft Night on bi-weekly Mondays. Each Monday features a different “edition,” but attendees are always welcome to bring the craft or art project of their choice. October 5th is the Coloring Pages into Cards edition – in time for the upcoming holiday season – and October 19th is All Crafts Edition – all mediums are welcome. handmade gingerbread All of these programs are Free and Open to the Public!
