“Churning up the Past” is not just the title of the classes Ms. Amy teaches at Flathead Valley Community College, but also describes most aspects of her chosen lifestyle of basic living and doing things the “old” way with vintage or antique equipment.
She is the mother of six and raised her family on a small working farm. The skills acquired were interesting and valuable, and have given her balance and stability to withstand many economic situations. She opened her farm educating 20,000-30,000 people a year for 10 years. In the process, she became a master folk artist.
At 1:00 pm, Saturday, April 27 Ms. Amy will introduce you to butter and cheese making, basic cooking, breadmaking, spinning, and canning.
