1,000 Books before Kindergarten is a reading challenge that promotes reading and literacy to our youngest patrons. It fosters a love for reading while laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is free and available for children who haven’t started Kindergarten yet, even without a library card. Read books and tally them, and soon you’ll be adding your leaves to the 1.000 Books tree in the Library’s Childrens’ area.
As Dr. Seuss once said, “You’re never too old, too wacky, to wild, to pick up a book and read to a child.”
