Whitefish Library Policies

2021. Animals in the Library.

Animals are not permitted in the Whitefish Community Library. The exclusion of animals from the building is based on a concern for the safety of all library patrons, and the need to maintain a quiet contemplative environment.

Exceptions to this policy are:

1) service animals, as defined by Federal law. That definition is as follows: “service animal means any dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefits of an individual with a disability.” If the service animal disrupts the quiet and safety of the Library for other users, the owner with the service animal will be asked to leave the premises;

2) animals that are brought into the building as part of a program or event sponsored by the Whitefish Community Library.
