I honestly really liked the book Bud, Not Buddy. It was a very detailed book that taught my whole class a real lesson on segregation. For books I like I very much pay close attention to and this book was one of those books. The book is by Christopher Paul Curtis. The genre made the whole book better and fun, it was historical fiction. I think the best character was definitely Bud because he was a wise, independent, and young man. Some of my favorite parts of the book was when Bud ran away towards Grand Rapids to try to find he “father” who ended up being his grandfather. On the way over to Grand Rapids Bud ran into a guy who he thought was a vampire and in my opinion I thought that was really funny. He also finally got something to eat from the “vampire” and something to drink. Bud seemed so happy when he finally ate/drank something and that made me happy. I would honestly recommend this book toa anyone who wants to learn about segregation and who is in the grade 5 or 6. Overall I would rate this book a 4.5/5 and it was a very good and detailed book.

The author is Christopher Paul Curtis. Bud, Not Buddy takes place in Michigan. Bud’s mom is dead and his dad is gone. Bud’s goal is to find his dad. He gets sent to a foster home and escapes due to the bad foster family.
He tries to hop a train to Grand Rapids but doesn’t hop the train. He decided to try and walk there and gets picked up by Lefty Lewis. He gets a drive to Grand Rapids and finds a man named Mr. C. who he thinks is his dad. Mr. C. turns out to be his grandpa. I think this book is very detailed and interestingly coolish.

Bud, not Buddy by Christopher Paul Harris is a book. It is historical fiction and it takes place in Michigan. After his mom died, Bud, the main character, is trying to find out who is dad is. The only clues to who he is are the newspapers his mom had kept and left behind. Bud is really independent and able to survive a lot of terrible things that happen to him. One of my favorite parts is when he breaks out of the shed after aggravating all the bees. I would rate this 5 stars out of 5. I recommend this book to anyone that can read.

The author of Bud, Not Buddy is Christopher Paul Curtis. The story takes place in Michigan. Some characters in the story are Bud, Lefty Lewis, Mr. C., the Amoses, and more. What happened to Bud: Bud ran away from the Amoses’ house to Grand Rapids to try and find his dad because before his mom died that’s where he said to go but instead he found his grandfather. I liked the story. I liked it when he ran away from the Amoses’. I rate it a 4 out of 5.

The author of this book is Christopher Paul Curtis. Bud is my favorite character in the book because he is funny. My personal favorite part of the book is the end where the conflict is resolved. I would personally recommend this book to other people because it’s exciting and adventurous. Another reason I would recommend this book is that it also has a Newbury prize. And also it has so many twists and turns, that are cliffhangers. And I would recommend this book to people who like adventure stories.
