2016. “Claims Returned” Materials
Library patrons may claim that they have returned library materials even though those materials cannot be found on the shelves, while the patron’s account shows that those materials are still checked out to the patron. This situation will be called Claims Returned for purposes of this policy.
Library patrons will be permitted to have two (2) Claims Returned materials on their library cards. After two, if another item is claimed to be returned, one of the three items in question must be resolved. The patron may choose to pay for or to replace an item. The replacement must be the same as the original.
The amount of reimbursement will be governed by the lost or damaged materials provisions in Policy 2014. Library Card Privileges and Responsibilities.
