Fall Into Reading youth read & review program
Sponsored by Bookworks of Whitefish and the Whitefish Pilot. PURPOSE:
To share our favorite reads with each other by reviewing what we read and contributing it to a shared space so that others can use it to find books to read;
To encourage discussion of books and reading because it’s fun!
HOW IT WORKS:
Enter reviews at the Whitefish Community Library beginning Wednesday, October 26th and ending November 29.
Each week for the five weeks of FALL INTO READING, two reviewers will be randomly drawn to receive a $10 gift certificate from the FALL INTO READING sponsor, Bookworks of Whitefish, and one review will be chosen to send to the Whitefish Pilot. A total of 10 gift certificates will be given out.
Book reviews can be from anyone 18 and under who lives in the Whitefish area. A library card is not required. Only printed or legibly handwritten reviews are allowed. The Pilot requests a picture of the reviewer with their reviewed book along with the review and we will take these pictures at the library.
Very young participants’ reviews must be in their own words. There are book review templates below and at the library to help children talk and write about their book. Or use the prompt questions (also below) to write your own book review. Book reviews and reports made at school may be entered.
Dates for review groups:
Wednesday, Oct. 26 through Tuesday, November 1.
Wednesday, November 2 through Tuesday, November 8.
Wednesday, November 9 through Tuesday, November 15.
Wednesday, November 16 through Tuesday, November 22.
Wednesday, November 23rd through Tuesday November 29.
All reviews will be displayed in the library, on the website, and kept in a binder in the library for our patrons’ reading pleasure. Website: we will only display names and/or pictures with the permission of the reviewer and guardian on our website or Facebook page.
