APOCALYPSE AT LITTLE BIGHORN: CUSTER’S FINAL BATTLE Wednesday, October 17, 2018 Whitefish Library 7:00 pm Whitefish, MT

The Battle of the Little Bighorn, more commonly referred to as “Custer’s Last Stand” is an epic story in the annals of American history. A story that still haunts the American consciousness, even today.

In this one hour presentation, we will examine the characters and events that shaped this explosive confrontation between the vaunted 7th Cavalry under the command of the iconic George Armstrong Custer, as the U.S. Government attempts to bludgeon the Sioux and Cheyenne onto a reservation. The legendary Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse will rally their people to fight back and ultimately destroy Custer’s command.

Little Bighorn Battlefield NPS seasonal Ranger Steve Adelson will share his substantial knowledge and understanding of the battle with those in attendance in what promises to be a riveting account of the infamous affair.

Adelson has presented on the History Channel, Discovery, Travel, CBS Sunday Morning, C-Span and other media outlets. He is the author of the book, Little Bighorn; Voices From a Distant Wind, and the producer of the documentary film, “Contested Ground.” One can examine his work at the website, www.backtrackwest1876.com .
